The brief
Blu-Zea Resort's old website looked dated, and its look and feel no longer matched the resort or its new brand guidelines. The brief was a full rebuild rather than a refresh: redesigned pages, a booking engine that works as it should, and a layout that holds up on phones, tablets and desktops.
The approach
We rebuilt the site from the ground upredesigning every page and layout around Blu-Zea's new brand guidelines, connecting the booking engine behind a Book Now button, and adding simple animations that keep the pages feeling alive.
The work
The story
Blu-Zea Resort by Double-Six is a resort in Seminyak, Bali, with sophisticated design, lush landscaping and four places to eat and drink. The client came to us because the existing website no longer did the resort justice. The design felt outdated, and it didn't reflect how the property looks and feels today.
Design direction
We redesigned the whole site against the resort's new brand guidelines, page by page. Layouts, typography, colour and imagery were all reworked so every page reads as one brand instead of a patchwork of old templates. The home page opens on a full-screen hero with a line about blissing out in Bali's tropical oasis, then leads guests down into the rooms, the spa, dining and offers. Simple animations add a little life to the pages, kept restrained so the photography stays the focus.
The booking engine
The resort's booking engine is connected so that it works as it should, instead of sitting behind a link. A Book Now button stays in the header of every page and takes guests straight into the resort's direct booking engine, so the step from "I like this room" to "I'm booking it" is one click.
What we built
- A rebuilt website, redesigned on the resort's new brand guidelines
- Room pages for the Superior Room, Deluxe Ground Floor and Junior Suite
- Pages for The Spa and the resort's facilities
- A Dine & Drink section covering Pallas Greek Taverna, The Beach Restaurant, Sunken Pool Bar and The Coconut Bar
- A Special Offers section, with a page for each offer
- Booking engine integration, with a Book Now button in the header
- Review prompts linking to TripAdvisor and Google Reviews, and a newsletter sign-up
Built for every screen
Responsive layout was part of the brief from the start. Each page was checked and tuned across phone, tablet and desktop, so rooms, offers and the booking button work as well in a guest's hand as they do on a laptop.
The outcome
Blu-Zea now has a website that matches the resort: current, on-brand and easy to move around, with the booking engine working inside the design. Guests can browse the rooms, dining, spa and offers, and book, from any device.
